Elegance returns to bicycling with our Classic Wool Knickers ( breeks to you folks in the UK). You no longer need look like a freak or a slob to use your bicycle for commuting, shopping, visiting, dining, or any other two-wheeled travel that lands you in destinations frequented by non-cyclists. Great for golf & cross-country skiing as well!
Our durable, bicycle-friendly knickers are made in Los Angeles from 100% wool gabardine, and will be the most comfortable clothes you own. They have been tested in temperatures from close to 20°F to over 95°F, in rush hour, on weekend 40-milers, over mountain passes, on Critical Mass, in the office, and at restaurants and malls, and they have proven themselves every time.
We celebrate bicyclists...
...in all their diversity. We celebrate...
- the tattooed messenger on his rattlecanned fixie,
- the hipster in square hornrims,
- the lady in her jogging suit on a hybrid;
We celebrate...
- the pannier-laden touring rider,
- the curb-jumping freerider,
- the club riders in their perfect Spandex;
We celebrate...
- the family wobbling along the street like a row of ducks as much as the paceline slicing its suburban shade;
Most of all we celebrate...
- the pothole-dodgers riding rush hour traffic to their workstations in all weathers, wherever they may be, wherever they may work.
We celebrate...
- the men and women who lock their rides to parking meters, poles, and fences in front of markets, offices, theaters, stores, and train stations all over the world;
- who ride through rain and snow and face the winds and heat and the indifference of the road hogs all around them.
We celebrate ourselves in you, and you in us. We are each other, however different we may be: we celebrate the bicyclist.
Testimonials The Bicycle Fixation knickers arrived with Saturday's mail, and I had a chance to wear them (over wool tights!) during a cold New Year's Eve ride on Sunday. I could not be happier with these knickers. They are simply fantastic! Fabric is great, fit is great, look is great. Very well done. -- Brad U.
The knickers were everything that you and others said they were, and I was able to give them a workout yesterday, on my ride to work. And yes, I received several compliments, not just from commuters, but from students, those arbiters of what's currently cool. -- Sterling H.
Got the knickers, out of package, on to the bod , on the bike and out for a ride within one hour of rec'ing...I've done some trouser-knicker conversions before , and these are well thought-out -- Tom R.
Got the knickers today--I love 'em! Perfect size and fit and a good weight for multiple seasons. I couldn't do the inaugural ride since it was raining, but a quick session on the rollers and they work great. I will probably order another pair from your second order unless you still have some more charcoal 34s. -- Colin M.
Wow. The knickers have exceeded my expectations. They're light, tapered right, and look snazzy. I got home after a fast ride from work, found the package, put them on, and still cooled off quickly. -- Christian F.
They're beautiful and I love them. Great design, very elegant without being stuffy. -- Beth H.
100 % satisfied - all that I expected. I would hope other cyclists would be equally pleased and will certainly recommend them. -- Richard C.
They look fabulous. The cloth is heavy, and seems to dress just right. I put them on right after pulling them out of their bag, and they fit just right, especially around the knee. Rapha is more open at the leg, but the gusset construction of the bicyclefixation knicker gives excellent freedom of movement there, plus the silk in the cuff is understated but very beautiful. I think they're nicer than the Raphas at less than half the price: even if you are not a wool aficionado, these will probably win you over. -- Michael W. |
