Nodds Review Artists are very special people who take their trade quite seriously and Karen Radique is no exception. She has been around the Arts and Craft world most of her life which led her into the Salon business and eventually into Interior ReDesign. She even studied at one time in her life to become a custom seamstress. Now she enjoys needle art, fabric Art and helping others redecorate or refine the interiors of their homes through Décor Transitions.
The love of art does not stop there. "Working with people to make them look good is like an art project. You work with balance, texture, color and design," she told me. Hence, Karen's Place Salon is a place where women (and men) can come to relax, get pampered and leave looking and feeling like a newly refinished masterpiece.
The services that Karen offers are quite varied: from Nail Enhancements, Manicures and Pedicures to European Facials, Body Treatments and even Make-up lessons. One of her specialties is Full Body Waxing. Now, I got to admit, as a guy, the idea of getting waxed (let alone having to do the actual waxing itself), just does not seem very appealing either way. But if I had to do it, well I know I would want someone very, very knowledgeable and experienced like Karen Radique. With over 20 years of experience, Karen says she will wax 98% of the body. "Waxing has become very popular as a form of hair removal and I do go out of my way to make sure my clients are comfortable."
She gave me a tour of her clinic and it was very clean and neatly decorated, almost as if you were in your own home. Her Salon is state inspected and is as professional as any large salon. But what larger salons don't provide as well is the kind of warm, friendly and personal attention that Karen is able to give to all her clients, including me! Yes, after learning so much, I had to experience Karen's talent for myself and received a facial that literally put me in dreamland for what seemed like forever. I completely lost track of time as she not only pampered my face but also warmed both my hands and feet with special oils as I lay on the bed. When I returned back to the real world, I felt so relaxed the rest of the day was pretty much shot. So for me, maybe Karen's Place Salon should come with the following label: warning, do not to expect to write anything coherent (or operate heavy machinery) after experiencing Karen's magic touch!
