Nodds Review So, where would you like to go on your next vacation or cruise?

Hmmm... for me, it's not a very difficult choice at all. Disney World, here I come!
But saying that you want to go and actually making it happen are two very different things and if you've ever had to plan your own trip, you'll know exactly what I mean: surfing the web for discounted airline tickets, calling hotel after hotel... then there is the rental car, the park tickets, the restaurants and other sightseeing tours... the list can go on and on and on.
No way. Me, I'm a busy professional, so I much prefer the services of another professional for my vacation, and that means a simple call to Sun Connections Travel and Cruises. "I enjoy making it an easy process," says owner Joyce Bates from her office on 1st street across from the post office (look for the large yellow sign with the sun logo) . How easy? Well for me, all it took was a phone call to Joyce and she handled everything else from there, quick and simple. Joyce was fantastic to work with and you'll not meet a nicer person too. The joy she gets from helping you get to where you want to go is real, just as if she had just booked a dream vacation for her best friend. "Even after all these years, I still get a thrill of sending someone to where they want to go," she said with a smile, "and I always say ‘congratulations, you're going to Las Vegas' or wherever they are traveling too." And sure enough, she did in fact say that to me: "Congratulations, you are going to Disney World!" Now, while that's all my wife needed to hear, what I heard was the fine print that was inaudibly tacked on to the end of the sentence of "... and you saved $500!" Yea, we're going to Disney World!

I'm sure there are more reasons but these are the main ones for me on why I would recommend to anyone of my neighbors in Beaverton to go see Joyce at Sun Connections Travel. And the secret behind those reasons are her great relationship with and understanding of all the key travel vendors having access to travel specials that you or I do not, making it easy to compare prices. She's also able to find wholesale rates that end up saving her clients a lot of money ($500.00 can buy a lot of Disney souvenirs!). And on top of all these benefits, her service is free (excluding Destination Wedding planning). "I am not biased towards any one airline or vendor," she said, "because I work for the customer' and this translates into great deals and even greater customer service. As an example she told me of a couple in Hawaii who wanted to stay a couple extra days halfway through their trip. No problem. They called up Joyce and she took care of everything. But a more personal example would be my trip to Disney World. We were at the airport going home when we realized we forgot a bag at the park. Recommendation: keep Joyce's business card handy, we did, gave here a quick call and she directed us to the correct dept to get our bag back. So let's add this as another reason to recommend Joyce: great customer service from a person who is on your side from the time you purchase your vacation to the day you return home.
Born and raised in Astoria, Joyce told me that it rained so much more there that moving to Beaverton was like living in Hawaii. Hmmm... I'm not sure I would agree but then again, I have never lived in Astoria! But needless to say, she loves Beaverton and has raised two kids here. And as for travel, she of course loves it. A veteran of many cruises (she stopped keeping track after her 25th cruise), she is also a certified specialist in Hawaii, Mexico, European vacations and all cruises. So after 10 years as a corporate travel agent for Fred Meyer's corporate office, she opened Sun Connections Travel & Cruises, LLC in May of 1999 and you can visit her store-front agency right here in the Beaverton. Joyce says she loves all the local stores in her area and tries to frequent them as much as possible in support of local businesses.
