Welcome to the BAM Camp My name is Faustin Riley. I've been teaching since 1977 (P.E./ Weight Training, Health, Social Studies) and coaching (Football, formerly Track) at Beaverton and Sunset High Schools. I've struggled with the cycle of inactivity and overeating for years but finally have found a program that works.
It's not impossible, but most improbable to make lasting changes on your own. I can't express how much my life has improved in every aspect simply by controlling the food I eat.
For years I've had the idea of a program that mixes physical and mental fitness. Recently I decided it needed to happen and started to research similar camps or classes for young people.
Guess what? They don't exist.
There are a zillion camps and personal trainers working on physical fitness as well as numerous counselors or consultants working on some aspect of the mental fitness piece of the equation.
Only super expensive boarding "fat camps" work on both the mental and the physical... until now.
Introducing the Body and Mind Camp
If you are worried about the physical condition of your son or daughter, here are 6 reasons why a camp that combines physical and mental fitness may be the perfect choice:
- Whether or not it manifests itself physically, eating disorders and preoccupation with food originate before adulthood.
- Long term studies in the U.S. and Canada about inactivity, "screen" time, and the rise of obesity.
- The fact many young people are digging such a deep hole 'numbing out on food' it will be almost impossible to climb out as adults
- The vicious cycle of inactivity > overeating > overweight > inactivity > overeating > obesity > inactivity > overeating >eventually morbid obesity and life threatening health risks
- The corporate marketing push to sell overeating or unhealthy eating at any cost.
- Medical ‘experts' selling surgeries as the only answer to obesity, now marketing to teens.
Meet the Camp Staff

FAQ
Why should I take a chance on the BAM Camp?
There are lots of camps and training services out there, many established for years. Bam Camp is different. We are a camp dedicated not just to a transformation in physical appearance, but a transformation in outlook, self esteem and effectiveness as well.
My child is not physically fit? Will they be able to have a good experience?
All activities are adjusted to individual level of fitness. Current fitness level doesn't matter; they will fit in. Improvement is relative to each individual.
I can't see my child enjoying a camp with workouts
There are three main reasons they will enjoy themselves and want to return each day:
- They will be supported and cared for.
- Having fun is a priority
- Improvement and a sense of accomplishment is a great motivator
