Nodd's Review There are few family run businesses that not only have roots here in Beaverton but have also stood the test of time so that now, after decades of serving our community, they are now known throughout the state or even the nation and beyond. Many may know of Beaverton Foods or Beaverton Bakery but let me tell you of another home grown business we can all be proud of: Beaverton Florists.
Opening its doors back in 1943, Beaverton Florists has grown to become the largest retail florist in Oregon. Located as it always has since 1960 on 2nd and Watson, you can find owner Keith Hill there running the day-to-day operations with the precision that can only come from many, many years in the business. "I was working in the store while going to Aloha High School in the 70's," he told me and that was when his uncle was owner. Now it's Keith and his wife Sheri at the helm and under their guidance, Beaverton Florists has won the hearts... and been a part of ... many a Beaverton family (Valentines, Mother's Day, Birthdays, weddings, hospital stays etc).
"We pride ourselves on the long term relationships we have with our customers," Keith told me. "Its what sets us apart from others. Professional designers and unparalleled customer service." In fact, he told me that they stand by their work 100%. "Product and Quality," Keith said. "We get freshly cut roses, tulips and lilies from Hillsboro on Monday and can get these in an arrangement to you on Tuesday... we only use premium flowers." Yes, this is what keeps his customers (including me) coming back again and again and again.
Sure, order what you'd like online but if you are in the area, do yourself a favor and drop by their store. It's an amazing place with more than just flowers: there are holiday and seasonal gifts and a whole zoo worth of perhaps every Webkinz ever made (150 kinds and counting)! I know I am not alone when I say "Thank you Keith and Sherri for being there to brighten our every occasion and for so many years."
